Finding God in Job Hunting, Career Confusion, and Passion Scrambling

Finding God in Career Drift, Job Hopping, and Passion Scrambling

Surrender to God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. We can only hear God’s message for us when we know how to listen.

How do we discern what God is telling us?

Read the Bible.

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His purpose.” – Philippians 2:13

You can refer to specific topics you want to pray for to lead you to a Bible verse. You may download a Bible application that has this feature. For instance, if you are going through a life crisis or you feel lost in your career path, you may look into “Purpose”, “Grace” or “Faithfulness”. You may read the Bible verse or the whole chapter, it’s up to you. The Holy Spirit will guide you. “Serve the Lord with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind.” (1 Chronicles 28:9) Reflect on the Scripture, and how it applies to your life.

Do fasting to consecrate yourself to God’s purpose.

Jon Bloom wrote on his blog site, “Fasting tests where the heart is. And when it reveals that the heart is with God and not the world, a mighty blow is struck against Satan.” A hunger for God’s word with an open heart and listening ear allows us to hear Him more clearly.Listen to the voice of God than the voice of people or the voice of fear. The fear of man proves to be a snare and a trap.

Keep Delighting in the Lord

God’s perfect timing may be in days, months, years or season, but He is faithful to His promise. When we call out to the Lord, He will answer. We will know it’s Him silently working through us as He casts away our fear and worries, and replaces it with peace and bliss. The Lord will always guide you and satisfy your needs, as we receive wisdom from the Holy Spirit. He will strengthen you. (Isaiah 58:9-11)

God will give grace so you can lead where He wants you to lead. He will fully equip you with the skills, knowledge, opportunities and connections.

There is no fixed formula on this, you just have to do it.

Discover your AHA moment.

Think big from the start and learn from others. No dream starts small. Focus on   what problem you are solving. Don’t let initial failures stop you from learning and innovating. Babe Ruth, the legendary baseball player said, “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.”Ray Kroc bought McDonald’s at age 55. Colonel Sanders franchised KFC at age 62. Julia Child published her first Cook Book at age 50. Charles Darwin wrote the Theory of Evolution at age 50.Elon Musk, a business magnate who founded Paypal declares, “If things aren’t failing, you are not innovating enough.”

Seek counsel.
Accountability requires humility. You can’t do everything on your own and you don’t know everything. Build relationship with the Masters who can help you be your best to succeed.

I declare God as my Life Coach and Career Mentor. As I commit to the Lord whatever I do, He will establish my plans. (Proverbs 16:3)
