Monte Cecilia Park | Family Day Out

Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers. No time spent savoring the fragrance of God’s faithful presence in our lives is ever a waste.

Monte Cecilia Park is packed with an array of walking tracks, polished lawns, incredible trees and lovely views. It has an interesting variety of native plants and trees which serves a large population of birds and invertebrates. Seasonal visitors include kaka and shining cuckoo, and resident birds like kereru, piwakawaka, tui, grey warbler, silvereyes and blackbirds are plentiful all year round.

You’ll find this urban parkland in Hillsborough and home to Pah Homestead, an Italianate villa housing the James Wallace Art Trust’s collection of New Zealand art.

The extensive grounds feature one of the finest collections of large and rare exotic trees in Auckland. In addition to walking track, it opens to some nice Southward views toward Mangere. It’s a pretty neat spot for running around with the kids, or just hanging out.
